UEFI and Windows 8.1 running on VMware Workstation 10

In order to play around with Windows 8.1 (x64) and UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) on VMware Workstation 10, we can add one line to the VMX file. firmware = “efi” After this change select Power On to BIOS You should now see this dialog instead of the traditional BIOS.

The Group policy Client service failed the sign-in

I have seen this error first time you try to login on a newly SCCM 2012 R2 deployed Windows 8.1 computer. The Group policy Client service failed the sign-in. DirectAccess Collect Logs button grayed out

Windows 8 Delete Confirmation

When you delete a file on Windows 8 it will go to the recycle bin without a confirmation box. If you want the confirmation box back, you must right click on the recycle bin and select properties. Select the option Display delete confirmation dialog. And the confirmation dialog is back.
